Spent a bit more time looking at the V8Sprint today - with Sprint V8 (Who better??)

Shell is tidy, wants a whole lot of spanner work just to get the suspension etc tightened up. Its an 1850 subframe with fabricated mounts, a rover SD1 engine and maybe an LT77 box. Has some weird brake adjuster / bias valve apparently common on earlier models and a black dash. that'll be sticky back platic then

Going to empty it tomorrow - hopefully - and put some glass in it so it doesn't need a tarpaulin any more.

I might lob a sprint engine in it just to get it going and then decide what to do with the V8. Have a few parts to source if I am going to make a go of it. If not - it'll be a tidy sprint with a V8 to go!!

Some engine pictures to follow once the camera is charged enough to download them....

SprintV8 The Main V8 Man

That adjuster is only on the rear brakes nothing to do with the handbrake at all.

It's just using what look's like a MINI compersater valve with a manual adjuster clever.

Just a thought with the latest engine change that take's my car to 12.2lt's in engine swop's since Ive own her. :boggle:

David, if you ever want me to bring mine over so you can see what modifications/alterations were required to complete then I'm more than happy to. Might give you a sense of what else could be required, if much :)

Any excuse to go for a drive, anyway

Sounds like it's a goodun, either way - regardless of what powertrain it ends up with :)

I was going to suggest coming up to look at your's.
Why not come down next Sunday to the Local meeting for owners at the Pub listed on the event's thread.

In my view David's V8 need a Lotta Lotta work.
Basically the engine and gearbox are fitted and that's it.
Engine also needing a check and rebuild.

Off-topic warning :P

I was tempted by that but unfortunately it's a 280 mile round trip for me and being at uni it's a little tricky to sort out. I would have done it if it was the weekend after

I break up officially on the 15th, so will be about after that. Any christmas meets?

Aye, but the total amount of horsepower you've been through so far will be less than the total of Phil's new engine

Winner by default

Yer but I've spent £50 for 5.8 litres and lets say they all made 70hp. So thats 210hp. 210 divided by 50 = 4.2 hp per £
Or 5.8 divided by 50 = 116cc per £

:P
