I need to better protect some of my spare Dolomite components that I have in storage. I've seen brand new crankshafts and camshafts covered in a kind of hard wax, that washes off in solvent, and are then wrapped in a heavy protective crinkly paper as a an additional moisture and accidental damage barrier.
What are these items called and where can you buy them please ?
Thanks, Tony.

Not sure wat the hard wax is, could be something akin to waxoil/dinitrol or whatever.
I am a recent convert to using aerosol bike chain lube for all sorts. Seems to remain soft/a bit sticky almost indefinitely, but gets in places very well. Brilliant for door lock mechanisms as well as window regulators, and hinges etc as well as garage padlocks (my lockup got re-done just yesterday, must be 5 years since last sprayed and these are steel padlocks, fully exposed to the weather, which were just starting to get stiff)... But I also use it to blast a bit of rust protection in some areas, and would happily spray a crank with it prior to wrapping/storage.
