Bit of Family History trying to name the Year of this photo and the car as well.
Suppose to be the first Motor Car in the North East/Durham.

Thanks Phil SprintV8

wants to be early phil, maybe 1900-10. Model T was around 1913 and it looks older than that. Maybe an oldsmobile. Rolls royce silver ghost is 1906 and it may well predate that. Might even be end of the previous. Looks a little like an oldsmobile, any ideas where it was taken, London maybe?

Strange but true a Renault has been suggested before the photo was put on,
Damm Adam may of got part of it right.

Year could be around 1902/6.

Taken in Durham.

:?: Would be good to confirm the car and date with a link. :D

Definitely a renault. The above picture is marked down on this website...

As being a 1904 Renault.

could be a de-dion the running board is the thing thats doesn't look renault
and it's very similar to a de-dion one will trawl through my many books to see if theres a match
also a panhard levasor is a very good match too infact it's very close

and what are you going to do with 3.0 of stag v8 adam ? still have a few gaskets for them here though

George, I thought De Dion as well, but in the pictures I looked at their bonnets were much longer and had many more vents in them.

some early ones had short bonnets but i cant make out the vents
but going on the shape of the runner boards really quite a few oldies had a simillar bonnet shape to very much like the renault shape too
theres also a merc with a very similar pattern on the vents and the same ammount but the runners are a bit different my guess its about 02/04
will trawl the books later
