That seems odd, if it's already attached to a car :/ I wonder if there is some negotiation to be had, as to whether or not the DVLA would allow the original plate to be put back on a car, even though it's fitted with a non-transferable? Could argue that it's a rare and historic vehicle that should have it's original plate? Hmm

A non transferable number plate means that you cannot transfer it to another car. However, you can transfer another number (you own) to the car.

Your original number looks to have been sold off a few years ago. The only way to get your car reunited with it is to purchase it.. If you did buy it it would be no problem to put it on your car.

Worth every penny to reunite it..Would easily get your money back should you sell it with what is a very rare and lovely car. Originality is king on a car as special as this.

Thanks for all the number plate related info! That's interesting Howard81, I've never thought about it like that, cheers for pointing that out.

& yes Reg, (fitting username for the topic) definitely worth every penny, especially considered my dad's girlfriend (who works for a private reg. company) values the current plate at £2'500!

IF it was transferable.. which it shouldn't be given that it's an age-related issue! What does it say on the V5?

It's worth trying to buy back the original plate though. It's probably worth trying to track down the owner as Newreg would have put their 20-40% cut on the top..

This was one car too many, with an Aston, Triumph and MG already sitting at home needing work, this was a little un-necessary...if I'm honest

So yes, with around 10/11 months MOT left, obviously free tax, no outstanding issues; does anyone wish to grab themselves a rare, usable little classic? :)

£'1500 if anyone wants it!

A lot of work has been done recently, including carpets, reconditioning the starter motor, patching up small areas of cosmetic rust, paintwork, machine polish...I think you'll agree it looks great! :D

Lovely, that has to be the best colour tbh. Good luck with the sale.

Thank you; it really is a nice colour, very fitting of the era as well, I think :)

Should be at the Restoration Show on Sunday, should you wish to have a look :D

Driving it there as well, fingers crossed it behaves, as it is quite a long drive,

Dan
