Maybe this is common knowledge but I nearly got caught out today. I needed to drive a relatives car to get it MOT'd, it's insurance has run out also. I was going to get temporary cover, but all the ones I looked at said the car had to have a valid MOT already, and most also had a minimum value of £1000 at least. So I checked my insurance and at first glance it seemed I could drive the other car but I thought I would ring and check, they said yes no problem, as long as it it under 13 years old!, I did not see that coming. Luckily, my Wifes policy is with Privilege, we rang them and they their attitude was pretty much, 'knock yourself out Guv', drive any car you want, any age, any MOT status. They even said that WHEN we get stopped by the Police, they just ring their Police liaison people and they will clarify it for them.
