The motor factor wouldn't exchange the driveshaft but they've provided me with a new CV boot and the proper clips. I've farmed out the job to the local garage because I don't particularly relish the prospect of replacing an outer CV boot in sub-zero temperatures in ankle deep snow. I just hope that I don't have to have the outer CV joint replaced as well...
