EDIT; Colin Chapman said it.....or something like it. I should have done some research before I posted, not afterwards.
I still think the next car that Lotus develop should be badged as the "Lotus Colin" in tribute to the great man.
If Ferrari can have an Enzo why can't Lotus have a Colin?

Yesterday, I picked up the car from the Panel & paint chap, which means this thread is drawing to a close.
It took us all day yesterday because we were about half way to the workshop when we came across a little Hyundai that had spun off the road in the wet, careered through the bush for about 50m and wrapped itself backwards around a big old Stringy Bark Gum tree. The little old lady driver was pretty shaken up and her little car is a write off. So we dragged the car out of the bush, loaded it and the driver and took them right back to where we had started from.
Eventually we made it to pick up the speedster and the photo's attached are self explanatory.
Its now home and waits for its floorboards, fuel line some minor electrical, a few adjustments to brake rods and obviously some trim on the seats.
I hope you enjoy seeing the photos, even just a fraction of the amount that I enjoyed yesterday.
What a great Christmas present.
Cheers,
Rob

This, Sir, is what being a top quality human being is. Top work.

Lovely car too!

Apart from Floorboard rubber and the brass framework to hold it down to the floorboards.....my 8 year project is now finished. About the only thing different now, to when these pics were taken, is that it now sports a brass rear view mirror too.

Now....back to my SPRINT

Cheers,
Rob

Ditto that.
Always great to see somebody’s other cars.
And this ticks some great if not unique boxes.

Hi,
Several months ago, my local, generic make, car club asked me to write a story for the club magazine about the build. I did, complete with embellishments and it was published in September.
I've attached a PDF file of the story, should you like to read it. I accept absolutely NO responsibility for the accuracy of those embellishments. Ha
I hope you enjoy reading it, although it is a bit long.
Cheers,
Rob
