Jeroen So what you are saying Jeroen is that even the basics of engineering they could not get right!! Which is what I have been saying all along Steve |

Too easy is good! I'm a big fan of the first law of engineering Keep It Simple, Stupid! AKA the "KISS principal" Jeroen. The idea is to do some work at the beginning, then NOT have to keep doing it over - and over - and over again! So far, it has worked out well, I have a quick car that doesn't require endless tinkering and is still great fun to drive. What more could a petrolhead want? (apart from 20p a gallon petrol ) Steve |

So in conclusion perhaps you can make a silk purse from a sows ear! I am going to Swaymar tomorrow to balance a bottom end of a Sprint engine and I have an STR91 cam to put in it too! |

Thanks to everybody who replied. I ended up going with MED. We hit an immediate snag in that they did not possess any 1098cc cranks to spin the assembly up on (the 1098 in line crank is unique and very different from the 1275). This meant dropping my crank out of the engine Still, work is now underway and I look forward to putting the thing back together now. We are aiming to get the car ready for Goodwood at the beginning of September, so lots to do! I will start another thread on here as we rebuild the car as I suspect folk on here will be interested. |
