You're from Bromley? Well we're a broad church here. (I've stolen that line) My car was bought from Kent, so maybe I took the only other one out of the county? (Tongue in cheek) |

If you see an event taking place which you are interested in, get in touch with your Area Organiser and tell them about. Maybe they can organise a Club display? It may be the case that members simply don't know which events are taking place (the Club wasn't aware of this one) but would happily attend if a Club stand was booked and the event publicised. Of course it doesn't have to be the Area Organiser who does this, any member may book a stand at a show. Oh, if you haven't got an AO in you area, why not volunteer to become one? |

I was at Silverstone Classic last summer where there are literally thousands of classic cars to ogle. In two days of walking round I only saw one Dolomite. I shall be there again in a few weeks, but in my Z3. My Dolly still isn't ready for the road. I'm waiting on a windscreen. The original is cracked and the windscreen company used by my insurance is getting a new one made by Pilkingtons, as no-one seems to keep them in stock. I've been told 8 - 10 weeks! |

Get a screen from Robbo. See items for sale. Just bought one. On the subject of Dolomites at shows, rarely see many down here either. |

I didn't know about Robbo but I did tell the windscreen people about Triumph specialists and give them their due, they did contact one or two. But they said the specialists were much more expensive than they could buy it direct from Pilkingtons. They also said the ones they contacted didn't have a tinted screen, only plain glass. My 1977 1850HL has tinted glass. The car isn't quite ready for the road, so the wait isn't a really problem.Don't forget, I'm not paying for this screen, only the first £75. |

Fair do’s. If you can stomach the wait £75 is a bargain. I called a few classic screen companies as well and got the same response. 8-10 weeks special order. In fact one of them never had the courtesy to call me back and say they couldn’t get one. I didn’t have the luxury of time on my side sadly. I wouldn’t mind betting it’s costing a pretty penny to get ‘one’ screen made though. Saw a programme recently (might have been WD on Discovery) where they found a screen that was larger than they needed but had the correct curvature and they simply cut it down to match. Maybe that’s how they do it. |
