Log book

#1 Post by mahony »

My sprint is now tax free and the log book was sent off by the post office on the 27th May for historic taxation class , I have not recieved the log book back yet , the DVLA site lists the car as taxed from the 1st June, should the log back be back by now ?

Sometimes they can be back within the week, but they can take up to six weeks :(
Did you apply with a heritage certificate?
I just hope they have not lost it?

When I applied for the Vectra's V5C it took nearly 6 weeks so it is just a matter of playing the waiting game. If the 6 weeks have already elapsed then you should be chasing them up.

I have done the same with DTR, historic status and the MOT Exemption through the post office and haven't herd anything yet, that was about 3 weeks ago so I'm not worried.

Applying for new ownership/ change of keeper will usually get the V5 back within a week or so but changing car details such as taxation class can take upto six weeks. they'll just say it may still being processed if you call before six weeks.
