My neighbour (in Warwick) has a Shetland 535 based cabin cruiser which needs to go this weekend. Its on a trailer but that needs welding before it could be towed. Boat has good fiberglass shell (holds water well!!) needs insides redoing. Anyone on here with boat trailer interested in taking away as project. Must go this weekend or its in bits in skip which would be criminal.

I've already got one hole in the water to pour money into with my Shetland 570...

There is the Shetland Owners Association at http://www.shetlandowners.co.uk/, I've put something up on there.

The boat is off to a new home at the weekend and will be in good hands next to a Triumph Herald.

Marshall

Have done and pleased to see that it has been saved. The old original Shetland boats are really good boats, my 570 was built in 1979 and is solid really fast boat when up on the plane at sea but doesn't mind pootling about on the river either.

Thanks Galileo, Do not know anything about boats but looks like some elbow grease and a bit of money will turn it into a great little cruiser. shouldn't need any major work.
It would have been a real shame for it to end in bits.
