Talk of lottery wins on the mystery part thread has got me thinking!

You can pick your top 5 cars and keep any/all Dolomites you currently own and buy additional ones without penalty on the list!

Here's mine:-

1) 1967 Iso Grifo Lusso

2) 1966 Pontiac GTO (400 4bbl, pas, pb, turbo 400 trans and locker diff options)

3) Vauxhall Lotus Carlton

4) Holden Maloo Ute (6.6 supercharged)

5) Triumph 2500S Estate with Skyline running gear (probably have to build this myself!)

I think a lottery win for me would be more about facilities than cars. A nice sized unit with a lift and some decent space.
My car choices would be quite modest.

If I didn't have to work and I had plenty of space a TR3 for full restoration would be nice. And I'd get somebody to sort the bodywork and paint out on the Spitfire.

Then I'd pick something out to build a nice hill-climb car. Something bought specifically for a class like U2 "Modified Classic, Specialist Saloon and Sports Cars built up to 31.12.1975"

And then it'd be a VW T2 campervan and a V6 Golf or a MK I Golf GTI

Well, YES! attached to my counry estate and besides the 10 car garage (at least) I'd want a facility big enough to accomodate another 6 or 8 cars with 3 or 4 lifts, (2 and 4 post) a pit and dedicated paintspraying, fabrication and bodywork facilities. Then i'd employ me a skilled bodyman/fabricator and a painter to help turn all my mad schemes into metal reality. Maybe take on an interested apprentice or two to learn from us oldsters before we're all dead!

I'm not really interested in megabuck supercars like Ferrari, Lambo, Porsche etc, even old stuff, let alone the latest offerings, I want to build loony tunes one offs, like a Stag Targa estate and a mid engined Audi V8 powered Skoda Rapid. As well as the Skyline/2k estate and the Carledo Shooting brake. When they are done, i'm sure i'll have thought of something else that NEEDS to become reality!

All the money in the world wouldn't persuade me to hang up my spanners and just PAY someone to do it all, i'd have to stay involved, but I also know my limitations, so I would get someone to do the bits i'm less skilled at!

Ok I can see the Saab, I had a 75 99 Combi coupe myself (which I loved) and the twin heads (US spec?) are much prettier than the stock fishbowls. I can even see RWD, my 99 was more than a bit understeery and without PAS as it was, a bit of a handful on fast roundabouts.

EFI definitely and OMEX if that's what floats your boat, but why in the name of all that's holy would you want that disaster of a Ford Duratec when Saab make a more than adequate 2 litre 16v engine (moreover, one that will bolt to an Omega gearbox for RWD) in the B206?

Sorry, off topic I know, just couldn't help myself! if I win and you don't, it's that mad, i'll get my guys to do it for you!

Post subject:  Aye,....

Omex are supplying they 2 litre engines (which they have built) as OE to car manufacturers,
mated to MT75 gearboxes.
They engines are light and employ a timing chain.
