Just a heads-up about this website I used, thinking it was TNT.

direct.tnt.co.uk

It is in fact "Parcel2go.com Limited". It doesn't actually mention this fact anywhere on the website except if you browse through the Ts & Cs at the foot of the site.

Parcel2go, parcelhero etal. are all like comparison sites for sending parcels. The prices are in my experience very often/nearly always cheaper than going direct to the courier and you don't need to sign up for an account. I have used them (parcel2go) on many occasions for larger parcels, the only exception is for Parcelforce 24/48 and Worldwide, for some reason they are sometimes cheaper on their own website.

The only downside to using Parcel2go is that your contract is with them and when/if something goes wrong, i.e. missing parcel you have to deal with parcel2go instead of direct with the courier, it can then take a long time to get compensation - you do get it ............eventually, I know because I have been through the painful process, took 6 weeks.

You are correct though the "direct.tnt" website is very naughty as it leads you to think it is TNT you are deling with and not a third party. Though once its booked and paid for TNT do all the actual work and you can track via TNT rather than use the Parcel2go site.

Smaller stuff (<2kg) I always send Royal Mail 2nd class small parcel for £2.90 - book and pay online it's cheaper than at a post office. Quick and reliable in my experience.
