I use the Morris one (works well - local place sells it) - Castrol Valvemaster is also commonly used. As for the amounts - it says on the bottle.

What's the point when the wear rate is relatively low and heads can be picked up for a few quid! I wouldn't bother.

The real advantage is using one with an octane booster. Our cars were designed to run on 4 star which is 99-100RON, regular unleaded is 95. My cars have always run more smoothly as I've been able to run less retarded timing.

I agree with Mark, I use the valvemaster (though an 1850 doesn't need the lead substitute) but you do need to boost the octane.
