I decided to replace my fuel hoses last week. Specifically the two right-angle fuel rail to carb; float chamber short hoses ( UKC 2813 ) on an SU 1850. If you buy this off-the-reel it may not be suitable as the stuff I got was fine when fitting in the current cold weather, but after a couple of hot engine cycles these hoses developed a kink that effectively cut-off most of the fuel supply. Max speed 30mph !
It really needs the shaped right-angle hoses here. Either that or get a long length and check there is a large bend radius when fitting.
Tony.

Could you put a spring inside the tube to stop it kinking?
