Hello,

I am a new club member living in the South Wales Valleys and I've recently bought a Sprint which was registered in Feb '76 and manufactured in Sep '75. The reg number is MLJ 436P. It's a genuine Sprint and has a VA chassis No.

It has had a lot of restoration work carried out in the past by Southern Triumph near Bournemouth who also did some engine work too.
I bought the car from a chap near Bournemouth who owned it for 4 years and carried on with the mechanical restoration so it's had new suspension and he carried out a full engine rebuild including a new water pump which was £270. I've found a box of used Mahle pistons in the boot, one of which is cracked. Interestingly it has Stag alloys so has had hub conversions carried out. It also has twin 45 Dellortos. The car hasn't been on the road for a number of years. It was MOT'd in 2015 and again in 2016 but has only covered about 40 miles since Aug 2015.

The car is quite distinctive now as it was painted in Team Triumph colours in 2015. Does anyone know the car or has any history or details of previous owners prior to 1990. I know it was owned by Bernard Warr from Christchurch who owned it from 1990-2014. I'm hoping to get in touch with him shortly to discuss the car during his ownership.

Any information would be greatly appreciated thanks.

Rebuilding the Sprint time taken so far, 111Hrs@15/12/2020
212Hrs @31/12/2021
352 @ 28/11/2022
455Hrs @ 20/10/2023
480Hrs @ 14/03/2024
This is time taken at the Sprint not necessary time worked.

Working on a ratio of just 7Hrs a day not including driving to the Sprint.
That equals to 68 days that doesn’t include weekends.

I saw that up for sale a while ago. I wondered what happened to it.

Hello!
