In Dave's absence I thought I would do a report.

Luckily for me I didn't get to look at whatever Trevor wanted me to see as there was a good turn out with Trevor, Kath, Roger. Keith and myself. The venue was good and the management friendly showing us to an area we could all sit together in. The venue however has one area of concern mentioned by one or two of us, myself included, and that was poor parking. If we continue using this as a venue I will certainly not be taking my Dolomite there. Arriving at a pretty full small car park did give negative vibes. Worse and confirming this the damage I found on my Volvo this morning has made me not a happy bunny. In all of the 40+ cars I have owned going there left me with the worst scratch from another cars door I have ever had. The morons with the 4x4 parked next to me must have rammed there door at some force jamming it into my wing. Then loaded up the car ragging said jammed door up and down leaving a ragged gouge about 2mm wide and 30mm long. I'm Livid. Roger mentioned that Bramley Classic Car Club who also met at the old venue and had their last meeting at the Brittania were looking at two other venues, mayby we should do the same. Rant over.

Trevor gave us an update on his Sprint restotation showing us his latest pictures. I wonder if thats what he wanted to show me? He also told us about his dificulty finding suitable pipework for his Trackerjack brakes with his PMs not be replied to, hopefully now getting sorted out. I reported on sorting out my engine cutting out by replacing the recently new points and rubish condenser with a Sparkrite Electronic kit. Roger and I have been invited to take our cars to June's Harewood Hill Climb Event to show them. We then get free admission and a paddock tour, so thats happening. Keith has been quite poorly and so he missed buying an SD1 Twin Plennum dream car. I told him of one that is comming up for sale soon in Scotland, a multi best in show car, so I may be able to put him in touch with that one so his dreams may come true.

Bob, it is a shame your car got damaged. The Britannia looked to have a bigger car park which is why I went for it. I was hoping the Wednesday night would be a quieter night. I don't know where to go from here. Do we have the next meeting there or am I going to have to search for another venue again?

The next meeting (if it takes place) will be on the 1st of May.

Dave have a word with Roger.
The Bramley group which is bigger than ours is looking at, I think, a golf club near the old fire station on the main road into Leeds at Bramley.I think I know where it is, Trevor does, and if it is where I think its only about a mile from The Hollies. The Manager came to their last meeting at the Britannia and gave a presentation on why they should meet there. Could be a possibility and probably has a safer carpark.
We can still meet at the Britannia until we find another venue, just I will not take the Dolomite there and suspect Keith wont either. Kath and Roger use the bus, as its just up the road, yours and Trevor's are not on the road so it would only be Steve who may take his on the odd occasion he attends.

Just seen this Bob.
Bloody hell this not good, do they have CCTV to look at.
If they are a regular that dines there the landlord/lady may know them.
I'd be F*****g fuming too.
We did remark that the car park could be tight.
Not a good start there, think a venue change would be better.
Having reflected back where we were, it was a bit noisy and the music was on a little loud for my liking in our situation.
Obviously we could have moved to the lower section.

My thoughts.

Had a look on Google Earth and the golf club appears to be Got Park Golf Club and looks to have a decent car park as would be expected. Clientele may be a bit more respectful of others property also.

Dave as you haven't done your regular meeting reminder yet I'm letting you all know, if there is one I will not be at this Wednesdays. My Volvo was hit on Friday night by a Czech registered uninsured Skoda running a red light. We are OK but insurance have said they are 50:50 on writing it off. I don't have a curtesy car and having to use the Dolomite and after last months car park issue will not be using the Dolly to come.

The police took the Skoda a 20yr old Felicia that was a dog. They produced paperwork saying it was a hire car!!!! The 4 occupants all got on their phones and within minutes another Czech car full of men turns up. Police were great got there very quickly and my son being a very big guy was not going to be intimidated. If he hadn't been there with me we think things could have been a lot worse. As soon as they knew the police were on the way the other car cleared off and when they arrived two of the passengers did a quick disappearing act and the third when the driver went into the police car. Police didn't want my car leaving at the scene considering what had happened so they got it home for me. Now just waiting for assessment and decisions.

Bloody hell Bob you’re not having much luck at the moment.
Hope you’re all ok as the metal will mend or other wise.
At least the police did their bit. Not usually interested in RTAs suggesting
To leave it up to the insurance to fight it out.

Best regards
