If you buy it be sure to realise that finishing it will require some skill and getting through IVA can be stressful, I know because I have built my own car :D

Quite the opposite; having set my ceiling resolutely at £650, I broke my golden rule and bid again, twice, to £760!!

Ahh.. I see, that was close! It looks like you do get a lot of kit though for the money. I mean, if its a good engine or two, how much are they worth?

£761.99...obviously

I keep saying it, but something is only worth what someone is prepared to pay for it!

Well I knew you were bidding it so I stayed away! But that's a helluva lot for the money! If i'd been selling that i'd have been well peeved with that result!

BIVA can be very frustrating, but it's a lot easier with a kit car like this. All the engineering bits have been worked out long since and compliant parts can be bought from specialists.

I would have been tempted by that "lot"
Flog the kitcar bits for a few hundred,
you get a hopefully good engine/box/axle plus odds/sods, probably owe you £400? Maybe less. That is a bargain.

Yep, that was sort of my thinking, though I'd never buy mechanicals on the basis of hoping they were good, I'd buy them as core which if they then proved to be good it would be a bonus.

My thinking was finish the car with a more modern engine with EFI and CAT potential to make the BIVA easier, then the car makes a profit and the engines/gearbox are free. Until a couple of weeks ago, I had a 125ps 1.7 Puma motor that would have suited that perfectly and only owed me £100. Chuck a type 9 behind it and away with the mixer! The seats that went with it were probably worth almost the selling price alone!

Looks like someone has been reading my mind - or my post!

A bit optimistic for an unknown, unrun motor though, Dellortos and manifold about right I would think.
