CAR IS SOLD
My friend Johan wanted to take his V8 Dolly back home to S Africa when he went home to live, however a couple of years and various reasons he is forced to let it go to a new home.
He has a very kind friend in Winchester who is looking after the car for him.
He asked me to look at the car and pass on my findings to pass on to someone who cares who will restore it.
I loved this car when I saw it in the late 90,s and would have loved to own it, my chance has come too late as retirement looms and I have just spent over 3 years making my own sporty beast.
The pictures show first what it was like and what it is now.
My opinion is this. The sunroof blew off and replaced by a fibreglass panel.
Body is tatty in places and will require some welding and clearly a respray.
Underneath seems very sound and is no rot box.
Interior is horrible and needs replacing.
Engine will run using easy start sprayed into inlet as fuel pump has died. Has a new ECU as water spoilt original.
It has a very desirable Ford Capri LSD back axle, though this means Ford PCD.
Four pot brakes.
Engine is a PI 3.5 with a sports cam, expect just under 200 bhp but more with gas flowing.
I think it is well worth saving and not breaking.
Pictures show what it was and what it is now.
The number below is who to contact if you wish to look at it.
Opinion varies on what its worth but I will leave that to Johan who no doubt will add more info.
