Well at last have said goodbye to the race car. It's new home is in the British Car Museum in Haumoana over in Hawkes Bay on the East Coast of the North Island. Ian Hope has over 450 British cars in his Museum and this is his first Sprint and also first race car. It joins an 1850, a 1500 FWD and a couple of Toledos.
At least I, or anyone else, can visit anytime.

Interestingly on the very day I sold mine, the only other known Maple Sprint in NZ came on the market (in fact in any shade of brown). The contrast is remarkable as this 2 owner, current for 33 years has only covered 55000km and looks to be in remarkable condition. Mine on the other hand even when I bought it as a road car in Oct 2000 had got though 8 or 9 owners and covered 186000 km. Wasn't in the best of condition either, other than as is common in NZ there was no rust!

A photo of mine as it was about to be loaded on the transporter followed by the immaculate two owner car for sale (in case the listing disappears)
