Nice videos guys, looks like a lot of fun! Speaking about rollers... are you ready to disclose the numbers yet Mart?
Also we'd like to hear the stories about (for example): what max revs are you using, max speed/revs at the end of the straight, handling advantages/disadvantages vs. the other Triumphs/cars on the track, etc, etc….
According to the rollers I now have 145 BHP (flywheel) about the same as last year. I'm using just over 6000 RPM. Max. speed at the end of Hanger Straight was about a ton. Handling advantages are quite clear from the videos. and I had ham rolls for my lunch.
Sprintless for the first time in 35+ years. ... Still Sprintless.
Engines, Gearboxes, Overdrives etc. rebuilt. PM me.
Like the part 2 video the best, nice lines, putting yourself good in position for the Esses.
Missing the clipping point in the last corner for the straight woke you up he..
All in all well done indeed.
Pretty fast Spitfire though.
There is some talking about "the rollers" a few other engine talk-pictures can now be seen in the lightened flywheel topic.

Absolutely. If anyone intends taking their Dolly out on track then you really do need to uprate the brakes (and suspension). Jon's Sierra/Golf conversion is excellent and relatively cheap (in price, not quality )

I'd found my bearings by the after lunch session, I think my power nap helped, not to mention the slightly moist track and my new tyres having bedded in a bit. (and the removal of the extra 4.5 psi you gave me Mart!)
If they'd let me use my camera though, I could have shown you how early you brake
Great watching these, makes me really wish I had been there, love seeing so many Triumphs on track.
That TR6 driver was a bit on the edge wasn't he
The Boxster doesn't look right on the track, looks like someone who just got lost on their drive out in the countryside with the roof down. Lovely grey Mk1 2000 from what I saw, seemed to pretty capable too.
Thanks for posting!
He Mart, had not seen the last bit, some very nice laps to.
Most of the time if you only put 1 time your nose on the inside of these early braking guys they back of.
What tires? and a LSD??
Btw how did you connect that camera, almost no vibration at all.
After a uhge bug had spased on the front screen we found out puting the AF to manual it stay in focus.
Hi Hans, thanks for the advice. I'll save that for the Castle Combe Action Days.
I've been running Yokohama 032 tyres for the last few years (as do a few of us). After a lap or 2 they start to grip very well & just get better. I also have an LSD and 4.1:1 final ratio.
For the camera I made up a plate & bolted it to the dashboard. I will have to get some pics. and yes I will have to take the auto focus off, I forgot.

I bought a suction cup and mounting arm for my camera, ultimately adjustable its proven ideal from the side window or front or rear 'screens but unfortunately Silverstone has a policy of mechanically fixed mounts only
So, no footage of the day from me, but here is a test run of the mount and camera (complete set up less than £200)
