Re: Off Topic
After 3 1/2 hours sleep im up waiting for sarah to come home from work so we can go shopping to Asda.
Re: Off Topic
Had an unbelievably brilliant time in essex with the daffers. Joe was in heaven as he only managed about 5 mins the whole weekend without a spanner or steering wheel in hand

Re: Off Topic
Shopping done, I reccomend Asda at 8am its very quiet and the off licence is open (well at least it is in our local one). Now off to bed so I can get up again in 4 hours and go to work.
Re: Off Topic
Grrrr. Not in any way on-topic of course, but I bloody hate that yellow 44 Estate! It managed to get around the whole of some Daf Club-related grand tour of East Anglia but then decided to play up only once it got to within 50 miles of me, so guess which mug gets to duck out of work and go through to Durham to rescue it? Actually, hang on......
I'm bothered why?

Re: Off Topic
Also in no way off-topic, I hate that yellow 44 estate.
Simple crank seal change on Sunday afternoon changes into seal change and engine out to replace engine mount because the replacement mount needed a different bell-housing. Having stopped at about 7pm, p*ss wet through (literally wringing out overalls, jeans, t-shirt and socks in the tent and drying myself over a camping stove!), find out in the morning that the replacement bellhousing has a bent clutch shaft and won't go on anyway. So the mount is eventually changed for a spare one that the Essex Daf Centre had which could have been put on with the engine in place!!!!!!
As a result, didn't get to our next camp-site in Norfolk until dark and had to pitch the tent by torch light.
Evil, evil, evil car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Off Topic
Phew, some paint, discovered by the owner of some random old car, on a starter earth bolt meant that I was spared, sorry, denied a chance to catch up with me old mate Plankton boy today. He was then about to set off for the South Coast to rescue some other broken down, Dutch-built motor that had decided it didn't want to go to Paris with its owners after all.
In other news;
my H.O.D. at work decided that removing stuck-on fur from the rather fragile, moulded GRP dash of a Scimitar wasn't a required part of the practical component of the course that, apparently, I'm there to facilitate.
She's still reviewing the relevance of having the little bas, errr, treasures scrub the underside of a brown Dolomite with wire brushes and apply fresh goo-fadge to any places that they could scrub back to bare steel.
What's a chap to do? I'm not allowed to let them loose with the welding equipment any more and they're not allowed to (get this!) use hand tools in the execution of any task that requires fastenings to be tightened to a setting of greater than 30Lb/Ft. At any time this becomes necessary, students are to ask a technician or member of teaching staff to do it for them. Great! We're about to see a whole bunch of cars being sent out with slack bits.
Oh, and I have to stop using imperial measurements in the workplace.
Stuff 'em, it's not as though I need to work so I'm seriously tempted to let some other mug have a go.

I will never get used to cheese & onion crisps in a blue packet...
... and that reminds me; if it's raining on Sunday, I must mow the lawn on Saturday, instead.

What colour packet were they in before? Do they taste different in a different colour pack?2Toledos wrote:I will never get used to cheese & onion crisps in a blue packet...

I'll be mowing my lawn tomorrow, it's raining whales and dolphins here (that hard!), I think I may need a boat to stand in and a snorkel for the mower.

Oi! Bad Martian!
Rain rain go away, come again another day.
Or just not when I have things to do outside...

My bad!
I went out with the dog earlier, it was raining so hard it reminded me of the bit in TisWas when they used to chuck buckets of water (and custard) at the guests...
