I got back today and must say what good fun. The good news the 1300s subframe held together without issue on the way back and all my tools where still there at the end of the day. Ive got pics i'll put up later at the moment im very very tired

It was a great day out, lots of work being done on the cars, and lots of spectators coming over to see what all the noise was about

Sounds like a great day was had by all. Has anyone perhaps captured some video footage of the event?
I think that would be a great way to enjoy the proceedings vicariously, especially as it may be a while before Practical publishes their piece, even with Danny Hopkins back in the saddle.

Nathans lovely 1300 was giving me inspiration.

My own 1300 at the end of the day with make shift subframe mount and some new paintwork.

Aluns car drew quite a crowd and for all the right reasons they where really working hard.

When my car arrived we put it on stands removed the wheel and swore very loudly as it looked like this and mount HAD NOT been undone

By the end of the day it looked like this

Seeing as finding a new subframe mount the same day seemed impossible a little improvisation had us doing this. Its still holding after the 200 miles home.

When I arrived both sides of my car looked like this, I even found some time to change that and it looks so much better for it.




sorry that I didn't get more pics but I was somewhat distracted with trying to make my car driveable home and just generally having a lot of fun. Thank you very much everyone who was there

Thanks to Alun for organising such a great display.

I had a great day working away with Mart and Dave on the head gasket change. I have a soft spot for early 1850's and Stuart's car was a pleasure to work on.
I couldn't believe it when all the studs came out! It was all finished by a late lunch time, and I had a good browse round the jumble. Picked up a new downpipe to cure the exhaust leak on MGR.

Before, after and during preferrably? I've decided that this is the way to go for mine - hopefully a few years off yet.
