Removing the roof 'gutter' trim?

#1 Post by Edin Dundee »

Hi All,

How do I remove (and re-attach) the trim that runs along the side of the roof? I need to get to a couple of rust spots.

Very carefully  ..........................................or........

very carefully,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, using a rag to protect the trim and a beer bottle opener to prise the trim off, you have to be very gentle and inch it only trying to slightly dislodge the trim bottom edge upwards and not fully remove it then rego along the lengh on the third pass it should pop of, if you try to remove it completly on the first pass it will twist and curl up,go slowly it will take about 30 mins per side.

Make sure you don't lose the clips that hold the trim on as there no longer available.

Yep..... I'm with 1300Dolly , done a few of these chrome strips now and never seen any clips??? The things are on that tight you wouldn't need any clips ...surely?

That explains why I have never seen them, I've never owned a sprint.
