Any Irish Dolly owners looking in?

#1 Post by Garfin »

Hi all, I'm trying to gather together as many Irish Dolly, Toledo and FWD owners together as possible with a view to forming a group to meet up on a reasonably regular basis, hopefully to become an Irish branch of the Dolly Club. There are plenty of us here! You may not be a member of the club (yet!) but I know we have some looking in and contributing now and again.

I'd love to get together with other owners and have a chat, laugh and a good cry about our cars. Go on, you know you want to.

Who's up for it? Hankies optional.

There's a very active classic cars section on boards.ie, so in addition to your post here, it may be worth posting this request there also.

Hi Garfin,

count me in, no mobile dolly yet, but I've just come in from tidying the shed!

Too cold over Christmas, one step at a time!

Cheers

Good to hear from you fellas! Not a bad start. Could you both drop me a line with your phone numbers and email addys to gary.finegan@publicisqmp.ie so I can keep a record? Cheers in advance.

I've been in touch with a forum member here called Aidan from Navan who, like me, has a russet 1850. PJ, do you know Myles Connolly from Avoca? He also has 2 77 Dollys, both 1500s. I'll drop him a line to see if he'll join us too.

Tom, is yours a 1300?

Cheers JPB, I'm ahead of you on that one. 43 viewers so far but no responses as yet. Too many Merc lovers there! I'll stick the same message on a few other forums too and see how I go.

So far:
Gary - 1850
Aidan - 1850
PJ - 1500 + 1850
Tom - ?

Promising!

If I'm ever in Dublin again I'll look you up. The last time I was over there I took my Sprint with me. Hopefully, Brown will be back on the road when I next visit the Emrald Isle.

Please do Toledo Man. Brown is so apt for the state of affairs over here right now.

So far I have 6 owners details with a total of 10 cars between us. I know there's plenty more out there so I'll be making up some cards with my contact details should I come across any more cars while out and about. I've also just received a message from a guy who has a Dolomite with just 2000 miles on the clock. I'm intrigued...

Hi PJ, current total stands at 7 owners with a total of 11 cars. I've been a bit tied up with work and 2 sick kids to do any more on this but i'll get back to it soon. Hopefully we can organise something for late spring. Emphasis on hopefully!
