That windscreen seal replacement may just have moved up my to-do list.... Due to ongoing work and wedding commitments I had not managed to get out in Blu for well over a week. She has a spot on my drive as I am without garage and therefore has been "open" to the last two weeks' seemingly hose-pipe ban fuelled rain. Going out today I had a rather sodden passenger footwell carpet (now drying in the downstairs loo). As a temporary measure I have "sealed" the seal against the body and glass in the offending corner with some silicone sealant (although I am not expecting it to make much of a difference....). Any advice out there about a screen seal change? Many thanks.

There was a particular supplier (I can't remember who) whose windscren seal came highly recommended. When I had to change the windscreen on Brown I reused the windscreen seal from my Toledo (I know because there's some carmine paint on it) and I got my finishing strip from Rarebits4classics who is also highly recommended. When you come to fit the windscreen make sure you get rid of any mastic because the windscreen won't fit. I remember having this problem when helping out fitting a windscreen on a Sprint at a previous Restoration Show. After some head scratching it hit me. With the mastic removed the windscreen went straight in without any problems.

Wins International: http://www.winsandco.co.uk/ windcreen seal is very good, it has the correct profile for the finishing insert (unlike other seals that are available).

Thanks for the link. Have picked up a new windscreen rubber from Wins which I fitted on Saturday in between the rain showers with some help from my fiancee - not sure she has seen the appeal of a car you have to work on yet, she prefers modern comforts and heated seats (best invention ever apparently!) Also got them to send me a rear screen rubber, front and rear screen trims and weather strips for all four doors, all of which should go on this weekend if it stays dry (!). Was amazed by the variety of sealants between the rubber and frame - seems like there have been a few leak repairs over the years, and it was a complete pain to clean it all from both the glass and frame, but hopefully will have been worth it - am leaving the football carpets out floor a few days to see, although it won't take long to check with the rain we're still having here.

Heated seats? GR9 for making you feel as though you've suddenly soiled yourself.
Not that the ones on my 345 setting fire to the seats has any bearing on that view. :wary:

Hello!
Not made it on here for a while due to getting married at the end of June, relaxing on honeymoon and being out of the country with work. In the brief moments between wedding preparations all I had time to do with Blu was tweak and clean before she was used as my wedding car, doing me proud transporting me and my groomsmen to the big day and getting in on the odd photo too:

Those few tweaks/niggly jobs I managed to find time for were:
- cleaning up rear light bulb holders to sort out the earthing and brightness
- replacing rubber exhaust hangers to stop a slight knocking
- refitting front under-dash self
- cleaning drain holes in front scuttle
- finding, cleaning up, treating and undersealing small patch of corrosion on underside of boot floor
- taking time to give Blu a really good clean and polish

The plan (fingers crossed) is to enjoy driving and tweaking when I can for the rest of the summer & Autumn (and finally sorting the front screen seal leak, probably using a SprintParts seal) and then maybe tackling something slightly bigger over the winter, but we'll see what happens.
