Bugger me, that 1300 looks pretty fine like that.
It reminds me, and in a good way, of DLT's "London-proof" Allegro as run by the famously hairy breakfast DJ some time ago. Apart from the gun turret and the huge scaffolding-style nerf bars that the 'Leggy had of course. I believe that the Allegro in question, as featured in Street Machine, was the first ever use of matt black paint on a mildly-modded, small FWD British car.

Thanks are due to forum member "Pikie" for digging that image up in reply to my request at the Practical Classics forum for a usable copy of it. No idea how I googled and failed, cheers for that!

Bizarrely, seeing the 1300 in the matt finish, another image that came to my mind was that of an early type 3 notchback, no idea how as the two are about as different as cheese spread and depilatory cream, but it did.

Now why on earth would a 1300 put me in mind of that VW? :scratchin:

Jeroen, that Lagonda is deeply distasteful. Love it! :D

Crikey, imagine trying to drive round in the Allegro now, or even getting it MOT'd?

The 1300 looks pretty bloody cool! :eyes4u:

You can pop over and do mine then if that is the result you got with a brush. Thought you were going satin by the way.

Straight forward but keep the metal binder on when fitting. When everything is in place and tightened up remove the metal band.

Small tip for replacing them. The book says to split the lower balljoint and the track rod end to remove the hub but it's easier (and less chance of damaging dust covers) to undo the two bolts that hold the hub onto the balljoint / steering arm.

Make sure you replace them the right way round because the heads are different sizes and act as the steering lock-stops ;)

Aftermarket switch bracket.

I assume that you are fitting new brake flexies?

They don't like being clamped by sharp cornered jaws.
