Certainly :D viewtopic.php?f=4&t=18647

I didn't realise it had got so far back.
Did they get out ok?
A perfectly natural question, cars can be repaired or bailed, living beings don't enjoy those options in every case.[/quote]

Indeed it is. I don't really know the answer. AFAIK they were taken to hospital but were not badly hurt.
Please see said thread for all I do know. I never heard from the buyer again.

Thanks for that, my apologies for having forgotten completely that not only had that thread been out there, but that someone with a forum user name very similar to mine had said some things in that discussion.
Poor car, I wonder just how many other cars have benefited from parts of it? Probably none depending on its insurance claim category. :(

Anyway, here's hoping that all those of you who are going along will have a great show and that the weather will hold for the occasion.
Pictures please, lots of them, vicarious enjoyment beats no enjoyment at all. :)

Sounds like it went OK then? Sorry I was unable to attend this year but was at the Paralympics, hopefully they'll be a TDCIR next year whereas I'm unlikely to go to Rio.

It was a good day and I would like to thank everyone who was involved in organizing the event. We were lucky with the weather as it stayed dry.

Great turn out - weather good - great day. Thank you to the organisers. My scabby 1300TC behaved impeccably - so all was good.

Myself and my 2 friends also enjoyed the day. The rain held off and it was pleasantly warm. Didn't spend as much time on the club stand this year not having a car to display, but enjoyed wandering around the field looking at the big variety of other vehicles.

Was pleased to see such a good Dolomite turn out. :D .... and the cake was nice :)

The only thing that slightly spoilt the day was that I unexpectedly, and unbudgeted, had to pay £8 to get myself in. (already being on a tight fuel budget). Chap at the gate gave us a voucher. I made it clear there were 3 of us in the car, he said that's fine. 50 mts further on we were stopped and made to pay as the voucher only admits 2 people.
I do consider this should have been made clear here as it definitely say "and friends".

I know its a very kind gesture by TDOC to provide these vouchers and it is appreciated. Never-the-less, I wasn't prepared for the £8 charge and it came as something of a shock.

We also visited the Anderton boat lift on the way home. (which has free entry during 2012).

i am sorry you had to pay for 1 admission ,it is hard to to to pull of everything perfectly when your in conjuntion with a very large show ,if you had gone back to the people handing out tickets and asked for another one before paying that would have solved the issue ,we did have it on authority that tdc members could have more than two guests in the car but as there is alot of staff with the main show and maybe not all off them had been told or rembered !did you come over to hq and report this ? ,glad you still enjoyed your day and the cake :D

I was somewhat in shock so divied up. It did occur to me after that I could have asked him if I could pull over and walk back, but it was too late then :( The steward reached into the car, grabbed the pass from the dash & proceeded to lecture me and show me that it was printed on the back about 2 people. As if I'd had chance to read it!
I had politely told him I had been expressly told it was ok for 3.

I did mention to a few people including one chap walking around the stand with a high viz on & a clip board in hand, (who did apologise) but not to HQ. (Just handed my membership renewal in there).

Turn up in a non display car, spend very little time on the club stand (by your own admission) and two get in free of charge in return for a nil contribution to the success of the day; sounds like a good deal to me!

Pleased you enjoyed the cake, I didn't get any. I was expressly told there was cake...

How many Sprints (and others) turned up? According to 'How many left' there are supposed to be only 149 manuals and 18 autos on the road, though more are on 'SORN'...

Cheers
