Is it possible...
that the body end radius arm bushes are new old stop elliptical ones that have been put in 90 dgress out on one side? The gap is supposed to be top and bottom...stiff in yaw and weaker in bump. If they are wrong it could casue some interesting rear steer...
Unlikely though...those older style bushes are quite rare nowadays.

Note from Admin: sadly Jon passed away in February 2018 but his humour and wealth of knowledge will be fondly remembered by all. RIP Jonners.
Trailing Arm Bushes were the Culprit!
Hello Again Everyone
I have finnaly got to the bottom of the problems I have been having with the rear end of the car being really floaty.
It was in fact the trailing arm bushes as so many of you had reccomended.
The trouble was that I had replaced them in February this year. So when the car seemed really bad again in March I just assumed it was something else this time. Hence all of the other suggestions above.
Well two of the four trailing arm bushes were completely jiggered after just a few hundred miles. It was the left front one and the right rear one. Which made for a partiucarly specatacular change in direction when I lifted off on the throttle. They were actually shredded, squished and split all over the place.
Anyway, my garage has replaced the whole set with some new polybush ones from a different supplier. I hope these ones last a little bit longer.
Thanks Everyone for you help
