Idly and pointlessly musing after a bottle of red...

Saw this on ebay and because it had the Sprint alloys on it, I started musing a la the title...

Has anyone ever made a hot FWD 1500?
If you started off with the 1300 engine variant, a well tuned version can get quite decent BHP figures. There is probably a CV conversion to take care of the donut issue.
Which would leave you with the gearbox which would probably dissolve at the first sign of increased power...
However, if you could overcome that, what sort of beastie would you be left with?

I know the stock answer to any suggestion of tuning the baby dolly variants is to not bother with the faff and just go with the Sprint, but assuming you could get a 1500 to a reliable state of high tune, would a FWD of the Sprint be more nimble/more fun/a different animal entirely?

Of course if I had loads of loot and spare time I would do it (along with a 32valve Stag  )

Red wine and ebay don't mix. Many a regretful purchase has been made under the influence of the stuff.

Ho ho! Couldn't agree more - I've found myself getting quite competitive and combative in my bidding whilst drinking vino tinto

:woohoo:
