Another carpet question

I am now thinking of replacing the whole carpet. I know the edges would need binding in places but has anyone tried it from a roll. How does it lay in the curved parts such as the tunnel etc ? I know you probably can't do it in one piece because of this.

Mine had new carpet fitted prior to my purchase - the gearbox tunnel carpet was made up of three seperate pieces - then stitched together, there is no underfelt on the underside.
