So I'm probably going to take my car to bodyteq in Greenwich who will mend my damaged front end but the bumper is twisted and needs replacing and also the sils may as well get done too... They are pretty rusty. Probably get a respray too. All for around £3500 excluding parts! I bought the car for £2000! Insurers said my car is worth £1500 so I'll be lucky to get that from them :/
Thoughts anyone? I really want to keep it alive...

Reason:Resized the photos.
The accident damage looks like a bumper and bit of work to the valance.
I would have thought £500 plus parts would easily cover that.
So 3K to replace the sills? sounds an AWFUL lot of money to me. Better off selling the car to somebody to fix themselves and buy a better example?
Or find a more reasonably priced repairer. I am sure there will be some recommendations from people on here.
You must try to keep her alive, you just sorted out the overdrive.
Might be worth ringing Delacourt Autos, I've never used or spoken to them, but apparently they are within a couple hundred yards of The Sun in the Sands roundabout, they claim to specialise in Sprints, same body, no difference.
If no joy I am sure there are forum members in the professional trade, if you ask.

Construed as a public service, self preservation in reality.
Hi Colin, Sorry to hear about this. I think what I would do is split the work into 3 parts....( 3 quotes )
1. Get a quote / estimate for the accident damage only. Looking at the photos the bumper will need replacing; the 2 dents will need filling prep; and paint, but I would really like to see behind the headlights particularly on the o/s. It looks like the inner lamp is pointing skywards which may mean the inner headlamp panel is distorted. If its very rusty it will need replacing and even from the club they are quite expensive but good quality. Even if the filaments have gone on the 4 headlight system that's going to be £60 of aftermarket halogen kit plus wiring
Are the door gaps O.K ? The front panels will need pulling out and on the n/s has the bonnet edge been riding under the panel ? The big problem is getting a new front bumper with decent chrome. This may be very difficult. There are none on E-Bay right now. My guess is that the insurance company will have an interest here.
2. Then a second estimate / quote to remove the outer sills and inspect the diaphragm panel & inner sill. Then replace just the outer sills. Add an addition to this quote to repair diaphragm / inner sill / jacking points when the full amount of rust is assessed. Prep; and paint in stone chip or body colour.
3. Quote / estimate for the respray in existing body colour to include existing rust removal, detail panel replacement as necessary.
4. Price up the parts needed from the various suppliers, and get in writing who will supply what. Concentrate on this front bumper first I reckon.
HTH,
Tony.
If you want a very reasonably priced repaierer, but not at all local to you, try andy dann at classic resprays. However, the travelling would be worthwhile.
Decent work at very decent prices, super chap too. http://www.classic-resprays.co.uk/1.html
