I have read the sticky but I am not sure I want to bother with LED. I rarely use the Sprint at night but I would like the dash a bit brighter.
What happens if I just get higher what age bulbs.
Ie E10s currently are 2.2w . So what if I used 3w or more ?

Mike, the lightbulb thread wasn't just for LED bulbs. It was to identify all the different types of bulbs used in the Dolomite range. Warm white LEDs are still worth considering if you want a similar light to filament bulbs and it is a bit brighter too. Cleaning up any bad earths will also help with brightness.

May be worth checkling the existing bulbs,
some of my gauge bulbs were covered in dust,
some just seemed dimmed.
I would still have a quick look at the led equivalents,
as lower consumption and less heat produced is
worth considering.

I am afraid I just don't see the need for LED's in many applications.
And my experience is that cheaper ones are generally pants. Even household versions, the leds have a long service life, but the circuit boards that run them do not. Maybe they need another 5 years of development.
Most instrument bulbs on our cars will be the 40 year old originals. If too dim then I would look at a slightly higher wattage as suggested by the OP. But try to buy branded bulbs...
And the suggestion of giving the bulbs (and instruments) a clean is a sensible starting place!
