Fibreglass panel paint/finishing
Fibreglass panel paint/finishing
Are there any special paints or fillers that need to be used on the fibreglass panels? Just wondering as I've heard fibreglass cars need to be gel coated not painted. Thanks:D

The club GRP panels you have are already gel coated. just give them a light flat to key the primer and paint away!

Mine with club GRP panels, just primer and 2 pack paint. Has been on just over 3 years now and no problems at all!

Re: Fibreglass panel paint/finishing
I didn't use any filler at all. TBH I regarded the few tiny imperfections in the panels as acceptable seeing as the car is primarily a racer. But a thin skim of a decent filler (I use U-pol gold) will not cause any problems.

Hi Rich; If you contact Autonet7 on here he would be able to advise you.
He did my 1850 O/S club wing recently and it looks very good.
Cheers for now,
