Oe Aerial

Hi Guys, I've recently managed to find an OE aerial to replace the plastic aftermarket one fitted to my 1850. Trouble is, the rubber grommet/cover appears to be much smaller than the original one that used to be fitted to my car. Once fitted it A. only just covers the whole in the front wing B. it leaves exposed a load of dull paint that was always lurking beneath the original rubber grommet that had been on the car since the 80's.

Does anyone know if there were large and small holes in the wings? Plus large and small rubber grommets? If not I think my car may have had an aftermarket aerial in the 80's for some reason. Maybe i'll have to give one of these A/M Ring antenna's a try and hope it covers the rough paint.

Thanks for the pic, Yours seems to have a perfectly round small hole, Mines a little larger and oval shaped. I was hoping i'd find a grommet large enough to cover the hole and flat paint like it used to have. Maybe i'll have to get the body shop on the case but i'm loather to spend £££ on such a small niggly thing I should be able to cover up!

Sorry to bring this one back after a few years, but I'm hoping someone is able to tell me how to replace the front wing aerial. I've sourced a new one but unsure how to fit it.
Anybody with any help would be appreciated. I'm hoping it's not going to be a case of taking the whole wing off?

Look inside the wheel arch looking backwards and you will see either a plastic or metal mud shield secured with three bolts. Remove bolts and shield and you will have access to the aerial.

Undo the top nut and remove it and the collar and black bit. Inside the hole will be a double half moon saw tooth fitting
which jiggles out through the hole and then the aerial comes out from the top side with the cable. You may need to take off
the inner wing mudgaurd to guide the cable out and refit the new one.
