Front grille question
Front grille question
I purchased some bits today and among them is a pair of grilles-sprint type but with spotlight mounted within them. It doesnt appear to have parts of the honeycombe removed to fit the lamps. I searched the parts catalogue but didnt see any like it. Any ideas?

Re: Front grille question
If the honeycomb has been cut out, credit to the person who filed/sanded it.
The brackets on the lamps do look a bit aftermarket.

Re: Front grille question
Lamps are lucas but I agree they dont look factory, but who knows?
Ive looked really close up and there are no signs of cutting or filing which was my original thought. Surface finish is as the rest of the plastic.

Re: Front grille question
Looks like fog lamps too. No use high in the grille. No manufacturer would put fogs that high.

Re: Front grille question
I don't believe you could dress cut grilles to that standard, the material is too unforgiving.
Re: Front grille question
This is what got me wondering. Maybe an aftermarket accessory from back in the day?

I would not put any obstruction in the way of the already limited air access to the rad.

Re: Front grille question
I wasn't intending on using it, I think it spoils the look, but interested in its origin.

Re: Front grille question
The lamps are Ring Microlines, available from the late 80s onwards if that helps.
