technical help
Hi. To any one who can help.. I have a Dolly Sprint that has been off the road for 3 years. It has always started & run reasonably well through out that time. However I have finished the resto. and want to take it for MOT. But now its starts ok when cold & runs ok but will not start when hot and fuel pours out of rear of carbs. I have cleaned carbs float chambers checked floats & cut off valves and all is fine all linkages are free & the chokes are free. Can anyone help with the possible cause. Regards, Viv..
Re: technical help
I had similar problem , I also thought everything was ok
I ended up rebuilding the carbs and when I put them back on I still had the same issues,so i bought new floats and and valves and that cured the problem, i would have a look at changing the floats and valves first
Hope this helps

Re: technical help
Before you spend any money it's worth checking what you have. Are the floats ok? (Do they feel heavy or feel like they are full of petrol? Is the needle valve clean? When you push it against the seat can you still blow through the inlet? Is the float level set correctly and does everything move smoothly and not stick?
A good clean and check can solve a lot of issues without costing a penny and at worst will identify what parts you do need.
