Sprint coach-line colours

#1 Post by oily66 »

I have been having a look at various pictures of sprint cars on here.
Were the coach-line colour factory/dealer choices or customer?
Was it part of the build sheet, and so is it detailed on a Heritage cert?
Mine has black on a magenta car but I really prefer the look of silver, it sets it of well against the chrome.
The black seams a bit lost on it.

I have only seen black or silver on a Sprint.
Black on the light colours such as yellow, white, French blue, etc.
Silver on dark colours for instance Carmine red, Brooklands green, Russet Brown, etc.

Once I saw a magneta Sprint at a scrap yard (it was parked outside) but I didn't pay any attention to the coach lines,
the large holes in the front wings/front panel caught my eye!

Anyhow, if you prefer silver Trevor, I say go for it,
after all, it is your car!

Ian/Paul
Like you say yes it is my choice but I have seen magenta in both colours.
I was just wondering what would be the original/ correct one and is it in the build data?
Am I too inquisitive for my own good?
I think most magenta cars ended up in the scrappers, and also so few made in this colour, that is why there is so few left.
Must be a common theme holes in wings and front panels.
Mart really knows how to go for it with those restos, could do with handing him mine.

THJ looks to have had silver stripes. At the end of the day it is your choice. I wouldn't think you'd need to worry about that just yet!
