Have you asked Rob (Sprintspeed)?
Hi Ben!

Yep, Rob was the first person I contacted.

Well, looking at all the responses it might just be normal gearbox noise plus a bit of a noisey bearing....at the weekend I'll pop it on stands and run it in gear and then do the same with the transmission tunnel on and see what the difference is.

Listening to Rob's Sprint on youtube, it is a bit winey?

Right, well, I don't know now then, perhaps the combination of the new thrust bearing and the fact there is no transmission tunnel on is making it sound more noisey than it really is?

I'll pop the tunnel on then and see what difference that makes.

Anyhoo in other news, the windscreen is now in on the second attempt after firstly putting the rimmer's windscreen surround rubber on upside down - I though the join would be at the top. Turns out it's at the bottom, so windscreen out and sealant everywhere.

It went in better on the second attempt when the rubber was in the correct orientation on the secreen, but I don't think it's a brilliant fit anyway.

I also put a new mechanical water temp guage in in place of the electric one to see how it compares to the digital controller on the water pump. I'm delighted to say that within a few degrees the two readouts concur with each other so that is a big weight off my mind. I'll set it now so that the fan comes in at about 80/85 degrees or so.

The minilite's are currently being refurbed and fitted with some new tyres and the chin spolier painted to match the sills - these will make a massive difference looks wise.

It's not far off now....I need to rewire all the rear lights and maybe add some deidcated earths in and put the door mirrors on...anodise a few brkts and reset the doors as now all the door seals are on with the door cards, they won't shut.

That's the trouble with following the number one team in the North East...that red and white gets in every where without even thinking about it.....

Looks MEGA Shaun! And for the record, I like your colour choice, I wouldn't paint my car white, but that's just me!

The lower red line initially got me thinking no, but now I quite like it, it's different and makes you look.

Just a thought, are you going to paint you're full name in italics in white on the sills ?

Shaun

Super job - well done :clapping: can I come round to have a look.

I will drag my sprint out garage now I have my new MOT cert, but I had issues - slight weeping of brake fluid from the rear load valve (which is a failure), it passed the brake test but then as I'm rolling out of the MOT station I applied the brakes pedal went to the floor, got the car home, quick look underneath and found that I had burst a main brake line (not a flexible) all sorted now new MOT cert issued today.

Paul
