2000 miles, so which spares?
Taking the toledo on the RBRR in 9 days.
It is fitted with TR7 engine, sprint od box and axle.
I have just given it an oil change with millers CSS20-60 (superb oil!) and checked other fluids over, all good. New asbestos brake pads and almost new shoes, brake fluid all fresh. Tyres all good and not old. Recent water pump overhaul with the ceramic ring modification. Fitted with electronic ignition.
I have packed alternator and belt, spare coil, and am borrowing an electric fuel pump that can be rigged in an emergency. few hoses/clips/wire etc. And I plan to sort a front wheel bearing kit to carry too.
So, any pointers what other spares would be sensible with these cars? Apart from recovery number.....
Cheers

Sadly, I have had to drop out from this years RBRR due to specialist advice after being knocked off my cycle last Christmas.,.................. gutted as I love the event
Will be at Blyth in the Sprinted Dolly to wish all well though.
Wheel bearings and spare hoses?
Hi Viz jackets especially when Scotland and Wales in total darkness.
Also ( if not already done so ) RaineX is a must on the RBRR.
Have fun

You have no faith?
I have no doubts about getting round. I just want to make sure any silly stuff can get sorted.
I think most of the cars on here would be fine.

Most of my in service failures over the years have been pretty much covered by your existing list with the exception
of clutch hydraulics.
A slave cylinder repair kit may be worthwhile and the means to bleed it. Also be sure no weeping signs in rear wheel cylinders afore ye go...
Of course if your car has been in pretty recent regular use all should be well, if you've done a recent 30 mile or so motorway canter too of course.

Re: 2000 miles, so which spares?
I have a spare clutch slave somewhere, so could chuck that in the boot. And a pair of master cylinder seal kits. Rear wheelcylinders about 8 months old, so not immediate failures and should be OK.
Yep, I was scratching my head, but I think that is about it without being over-loaded with all possibilities.
Car did a 70 mile round trip last night, seemed pretty happy. Sat at the informal motorway limit with ease, and plenty of go....
Think I will fit the high level brake light I have somewhere, and see if I can sort a bit of play in the steering rack ball joint. And fix the mirror hat rattles about a tad. And seal up a few little holes in the bulkhead, amazing how much air blows through them. And I expect noise. Oh yes, and I have some rubber crumb carpet underlay to fit under carpets, improve noise levels.

I was going to suggest a bulb kit too, And a good rechargeable LED lamp that will charge off the faglighter! And a decent jack.

Re: 2000 miles, so which spares?
Jeroen, that stuff lives in all my cars.....
I have a small trolly jack, a piece of 12mm ply in case we are on a soft verge, and a single folding axle stand. Yes, should have mentioned bulbs are in there too.
I have got my normal spots for high beam, and added a nice pair of bosch "worklights" that were rescued off a forklift. They give a perfect rectangular beam pattern, almost sharp 90 corners! They are wired in as driving lights, add some extra for dipped beam driving. But importantly, should headlights go belly up, I have extra lighting available. And yes, spare relays will be carried too!

Clive, the best way of giving the Tolly a good shakedown is to use it daily for at least a week. I'm sure any problems will come to light during the shakedown period.

A list of members of the Good Neighbours Scheme and some spare needle valves/floats if you are still on SU's.
