It does not rain here all that often fortunately. One of the jobs I still have to do on my Sprint is to refit the windscreen washer assembly. It is not that I really need a working washer but our Warrant of Fitness checksheet lists Washers/Operation on it, (along with Air Bag Self Check and ABS Self Check and Head Restraints). Maybe I am getting away with not having the means of washing the windscreen for I have none of the other equipment noted on the sheet as well!
I have held off from refitting the one which was in my car hoping I might find a windscreen washer bottle assembly in better condition than the one I have. No such luck!
I have scoured the town here looking for something suitable to use as the webbing which supports the bottle in its holder but I have found nothing. I have tried those who supply upholstery componentry for cars, those who restore furniture and anybody else who might have something. All have explained that they have nothing suitable and nobody has come up with a reasonable alternative suggestion.
Can anybody suggest what they have used to replace the webbing, and somewhere perhaps where I can buy sufficient to restore several support brackets?

Hi Robert, I usually use a leather belt! I go to the local charity shops and try to find a black one about 1/2" - 3/4" wide. Just cut to length & rivet it on.
Sprintless for the first time in 35+ years.
... Still Sprintless.

This stuff, stick "Pirelli Rubber Webbing" in your local ebay equivalent:

Just search this forum for Pirelli webbing.
Magenta Auto Sprint suggested this some years ago, it's a perfect match.

By no means original but a section cut out of a motorcycle inner tube works very well and means the bottle is easy to remove if necessary. No joining required either, just like a giant rubber band!

I cut some strap from some nitrile rubber sheeting and then used a camera strap buckle so it's easier to remove for cleaning.

Re: Webbing required for the windscreen bottle support brack
Thanks for the suggestions. I checked with all the usual local suppliers here looking for a source of Pirelli webbing. I have meanwhile turned up some other possible alternatives which I shall investigate over the next few days.
Martin’s suggestion of using an old leather belt did cross my mind for somewhere I have the remains of an old leather belt, of I suspect English origin for it was bought from Marks & Spencer probably 40 years ago and which is of no use to me now. I might get another 40 years of use out of the remains.
Geoff’s suggestion of using a section of inner tube was one made by one of the suppliers which I had approached but I did wonder whether it might fail in the same manner as the existing strap has failed. Mark has also suggested using some rubber sheeting. Sadly though I have nothing here at this present time which I could cut up.
Ian has found the real McCoy (a relative of yours Ian?) which can be obtained from Chris Witor. Thanks for that.
I hope to report back when I have found and fitted something suitable.

Google 'Lucas Screenjet' or enter the search string on a well known online auction site - you'll find plenty of hits for the complete assembly and bracket with strap.
If you want the strap only try this link:
