Sprint battery earth lead.
Hi,
Could somebody please advise on the correct length of the Sprints battery earth cable, including clamp and ring terminal and also body earth. Should it fit on the top or bottom engine mount bolt?
Any recommendations of a supplier that can make one of excellent quality?
Many thanks,
Chris.

Re: Sprint battery earth lead.
I expect Jeroen could make you one...
It bolts to the timing chain cover, not the engine mount.
I have a second hand one spare...

I've had them bolted to the engine mount, timing chain cover or even the engine lifting lug. Not sure which is correct. I'll have the earth strap if Chris doesn't want it!

Originally I found mine connected to the engine mount *cough* but it's currently a jump lead... *cough*

Re: Sprint battery earth lead.
The earth lead is connected to the engine mount on my sprint as I am sure that was as shown in the parts catalogue but it seems a little on the short side, connecting it to the timing chain cover may well resolve that and it will not obstruct the air filter pipes either.
on my 1300 it is connected to the alternator adjusting bracket.

Re: Sprint battery earth lead.
Personally I wouldnt bolt it to the timing cover. I dont like aluminium as an earth point and the cover bolts dont have a great deal of thread engagement so I'd fit a slightly longer bolt if I had to do it.

I've sent the lead to Chris, Mart.
The bolt to the right of the alternator is longer and the steel bolt earths via the iron block
