 Post subject: power steering

i have a 1500 fwd that has a rather large steering wheel. as the wheel on the dolomite range is smaller i was wondering if they had power steering?

None of them did from the factory but I've read a couple of Vauxhall Corsa electric steering conversion posts here.

Dolomites (save for the early 1850s and some early Sprints) had a lower ratio steering rack
thereby meaning less effort is required, hence the smaller steering wheel.

This Corsa PAS convo only works on cars with auto trans, as the motor occupies the space normally used by the clutch pedal assembly!

There now appears to be a EPAS kit in varying degrees of DIY, or a factory fit option, for ALL models of Dolomite. But it is MEGA expensive (£2k upwards) as it includes a mass of bespoke parts, all of which are safety critical. Think it may be made by a Dutch company, but assume they have at least one UK outlet. At least one club member has had it done, but I can't remember off the top of my head, who it is!
