I thought this was going on for a while.

4 Spark Plugs
No cams
No Valves (No changing gear when you hear valve bounce)

Yes Mazda RX-8 2007 Rotary.
Six speed manual.

Done my apprenticeship with Mazda after I left school
So know them reasonably well.
The later 13 B engines have better seals and porting.
And aftermarket seals are plentiful and with a better choice of material.

Pre mix Fuel with a good quality oil is a must.

Still waiting for the Sprint owner to make the next move.

Deals been done just need to arrange to get her paid for and back home.
Will call the guy up after the new year.

Already looking at Manifolds,Decat air deletes,Porting Templates and dare I say TURBO’s.
3 Rotor 20B engines as well

Gearbox should be good for up to 350/380Bhp

I’m gonna have to change my username to SprintRX-8.

All the best for 2019.

Phill.

The TVR all alloy AJPV8. 4.2lt.

Never went with the Sprint.
Sold separately.
Subframe was modified for the V8.
Gearbox mount modified to suit the T5 box.

That long ago can’t remember what I done.

The rotary 13B engine is small.
So I reckon not too much hopefully.

Famous last words.

Still waiting.

Present Sprint owner has a terminally ill family member in a hospice.
So left it with him to contact me when he’s ready to complete the sale.

I’m not in a hurry at the moment.
The upgrades I plan on the Rotary engine can be completed and checked in the RX8 before it’s transplanted to the Sprint.

I’ll keep you all updated as and when.

Thanks
Phill.

Have you had a measure to see how easily the engine and box will fit.

Complete cars are very good value. Must be the cheapest 231bhp !!

Richard.

The Rotary engine is small compared to a normal engine.
Can’t really see a problem getting it in the Sprint engine bay.

https://www.rx8club.com/attachments/ser ... aw-rvd.gif

It’s the 13B but the latest version 6 port and injection.

All the Mazda rotary engines have been praised because of their light weight. The unmodified 13B-MSP Renesis Engine has a weight of 112 kg (247 lb), including all standard attachments (except airbox.alternator.starter motor.cover.etc), but without engine fluids (such as coolant, oil, etc.).

That’s about the same weight as the TVR Cerbera V8 engine.

Brap Brap.

About time I done a update on this.

Well the deal I originally done has fallen thru.
Guy that I sold the Sprint to has traded it to his friend for work carried out on his vehicles.

Some good news
New owner contacted and a new deal can be worked out.
Now know roughly the area Sprint is in now.
Dry Barn stored with other classics that need to be sold.
Losing there storage to land being developed for housing.
They got until mid September to clear.

I’ve waited this long so may as well wait a bit longer
