Hello all!

I'm finally converting my lovely Nina from 3 rail to single rail overdrive! Very exciting times! No more screaming down the motorway.

Now, I have a bit of a shopping list. I'm buying the gearbox from a friend of Clive (Cliftyhanger), and I believe I need:

218519 rear crossmember Now sourced
TCK 1044 gearbox mount Now sourced
GCP 229 clutch plate Now sourced
GSD 272 Speedo cable Potentially sourced
120694 angle drive Now sourced
160268 Restrictor Now sourced
155304 Bracing Plate x2 Now sourced
UKC 3891 Bracket. Now sourced
Non Overdrive gear lever Now sourced

Maybe gear selectors & gear lever. I would like to mount the overdrive switch in the dashboard.

If there is anything else anyone knows I need, please let me know.

A single rail gearstick would be useful.....

Also, anybody know about propshafts? Kyles currently got a 3 rail box, and this is a single rail. (difference in box length is 4 1/2", as opposed to just an inch between single rail non-od and od)

Driving Toledo fitted with slant 4, sprint OD box and axle. Needs fettling!

I have a prop' from what I think was a single rail non overdrive car, which should take up the difference of the overdrive with the sliding joint.

However, I suggest he measures the existing prop' and 'box, even if only to the centre bearing and subtracts from it the length of the new 'box and reports before we start sending prop's around the country as that gets expensive! I have a selection of various other prop's here...

The single rail stick is the one that has a nut and bolt connection to the selector rod, isn't it?

Good plan re the prop.
3 rail has the bolt at the bottom, single rail is a "ball end" like the sprint, but smaller. Same as 1500 etc.

Then the late Mr Tilson can also supply a non overdrive gear stick too

Brilliant Alun! So, a non-overdrive stick works in an overdrive gearbox? But not a 3 rail in single rail, So I need to change mine? & then mount an overdrive switch in the dash.

Pretty sure the only difference between the single rail OD and Non-OD sticks is that the OD stick has a different top with the switch mounted in it and the "loom" for the switch running up through it.
Mechanically in terms of how they fit to the box they are identical.

Measurement of prop came back as 5ft ±1/4" to the centre of the joins I can see.

Measurement of the gearbox to the front of the bellhousing is 2ft.

Is that the new 'box or the existing one?

Clive, will the angle drive screw into the new 'box (ie into a 'female' threaded hole), or onto the new 'box (ie onto a 'male' threaded stud)?

Reason I ask is the angle drive I have screws onto, but I have a 'female' to 'male' adaptor which Kyle will need if it is into...

Thats my current, 3 rail box Alun. Am I right in thinking I don't need a gear lever now - that I can just re-use my current one?

EDIT: Just seen your PM, so I will take that as a no on the gear lever! Thanks for finding one!
