Hi James I’ve just taken my 1850 engine and gearbox out on Saturday and was wondering how on earth to fit the engine to my recently purchased stand and was very dubious about trying to use the puny bell housing bolts. Thought I would do a topic search this morning and saw your thread. Clearly the last comment was a couple of months back - are you in production yet? I could certainly do with one please. PS: I’ve not paid much attention to the exhaust manifold side of the block and forgive my ignorance - where do the bolts from your excellent bracket connect?

I usually remove the engine/gearbox adaptor plates, clutch, flywheel & rear crankshaft seal plate and bolt directly to the block, if you need to get on with it of course, but if you can wait for James' adaptor they are great. :D
Sprintless for the first time in 35+ years. :boggle2: ... Still Sprintless.

Engines, Gearboxes, Overdrives etc. rebuilt. PM me.

What's the current score on the adaptors James? Am very much at that point where I need to dress my engine with flywheel, clutch and head prior to install. Life will be much easier if I can use the stand rather than a crane which I have not yet purchased.

Hi all, apologies I've been really swamped with the kids and school holidays.

They are in the pipeline, I just need to order the materials.

I wouldn't build it from Ali. I don't think it would take the torsion involved. Currently I'm using 4mm box section gusseted.

Once I have done Aluns TR I'll try and get the materials ordered then I can take some orders.

Cheers!

Hi all, I am just ordering the materials to produce the first batch.

EDIT -

The materials have been ordered and are due to be delivered at the beginning of February.

The first one will take me at least a day to make as I will need to make up some jigs, the rest then and others will be quicker to produce.

Hi all, production is slowly progressing.

Producing one is easy but a batch is more challenging! I have had to make some jigs etc...

Shouldn't be long now.

Ordering Instructions

#45 Post by James467 »

I now have the first 16 ready for sale, these have been hand finished and test fitted. They will be supplied boxed and with instructions on how to use (although that is pretty self explanatory!!).

Selling price is £40 plus postage, postage to anywhere in the UK will be around £5 via tracked courier. Payment to be made via bank transfer or cash if you collect from me.

Sales are on a first come first served basis, if I do run out please don't despair, I will make another batch.

Unfortunately I cannot take them to a show, they are quite heavy and bulky and trying to transport a bunch of them into the NEC (for example) will be difficult.

To purchase please PM me with the following information:

Name:
Club Membership Number:
Address:
Delivery Address (if different):
Contact Telephone:
Email address:
Quantity Required:

I will reply confirming stock and give you my bank details for payment.
