Door check strap pins

#1 Post by GrahamFountain »

It seems that both the front door check strap pins have gone walkies while the paint was drying.
Anybody any idea where I might get a pair. Like, are they the same as 2000's?

The 16v Slant 4 engine is more fun than the 3.5 V8, because you mostly drive it on the upslope of the torque curve.

As a temp fix, a 7/16th nyloc nut and bolt will work :D

Yes I have just replaced some rust old bolts with these

1/4 dia X 5/8 long seems about right although the perfectionist might drill out elongated holes to a slightly bigger size.

The bolt nyloc and washers sounds good as a temp fix, but does anybody know if this https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-613622FK will fit the dolomite's check straps?

Well I've ordered the nuts bolts and washers in stainless, as part of getting the bits to mount the front headlamp panels. So I'll fit those for now and see if I feel like getting the clevis pins later.
Thanks all.

Original factory equipment was a rivet, normally completely or partially destroyed on removal!

Personally, i'm a fan of the 1/4" clevis pin and R clip (as used on brake pad pins) A neat and easy to remove solution!
