Re: Bolt sizes
Sorry, can't actually answer your question, but the most reliable way I've found for sizes of nuts/bolts is to find the part number in the parts book, then x-ref them in the "Standard Triumph Hardware Catalogue"

Re: Bolt sizes
Apologies, I hadn't realized that BH607241 (7/16" UNF x 3") and BH607221 (7/16" UNF X 2.3/4") weren't in the catalogue - my suggestion was about as much use as a chocolate tea pot!yorkshire_spam wrote: ↑Sun Sep 27, 2020 10:48 am Sorry, can't actually answer your question, but the most reliable way I've found for sizes of nuts/bolts is to find the part number in the parts book, then x-ref them in the "Standard Triumph Hardware Catalogue"

Aye..
Upper arm bolt is HB1022, hex head bolt 7/16"UNF x 2 3/4" long
Trailing arm are HB1024, hex head bolt 7/16"UNF x 3" long
and for the shocker HB1019, hex head bolt 7/16"UNF x 2 3/8" long
The nyloc nut used throughout is YN2910,
which has an 11/16"AF head and also is deeper than a standard nyloc nut.

Re: Bolt sizes
Not really relevant but an interesting point, both those trailing arm bolts (BH607241 and BH607221) are used on the TR7 trailing arms. Being 7/16" UNF they are odd because most of the rest on the TR7 body stuff is metric !!yorkshire_spam wrote: ↑Mon Sep 28, 2020 6:26 pmApologies, I hadn't realized that BH607241 (7/16" UNF x 3") and BH607221 (7/16" UNF X 2.3/4") weren't in the catalogue - my suggestion was about as much use as a chocolate tea pot!yorkshire_spam wrote: ↑Sun Sep 27, 2020 10:48 am Sorry, can't actually answer your question, but the most reliable way I've found for sizes of nuts/bolts is to find the part number in the parts book, then x-ref them in the "Standard Triumph Hardware Catalogue"

Re: Bolt sizes
And once you have found the part number or size order them from https://www.namrick.co.uk/#:~:text=Nuts ... il%20order.
much cheaper than other 'specialists'

Re: Bolt sizes
Picking up on this thread and in particular on the YN2910 nyloc nuts.......
These are the deeper, larger Nyloc nuts with the 11/16 spanner size rather than the 5/8 size that is the norm now. Rimmer's no longer do the 11/16 spanner sized nut, superceding the part to the smaller 5/8 version. I have tried sourcing these new and I am having trouble as they seem almost impossible to find.. Namrick as an example used to stock them but not any longer...
So on the basis that I cannot find new ones, I assume using the ones I have taken off (11/16), if they are in a good visible condition after a good clean up, would be better than using new 5/8 spanner sized nylocs? Or does it not really matter?
Views/opinions appreciated, or if anyone knows where these can be obtained new..............
Thanks

Ouch, assuming priced each.marshman wrote: ↑Tue Jan 26, 2021 5:34 pm Chris Witor lists them:

Canleys list them, £18 for a pack of 100, or 30p each. However, worth checking they are the larger spanner size.
saying all that, the curent 5/8 spanner size nuts are fine everywhere I have used them (yes, I bought a big bag of all teh usual sizes years ago, almost out of 5/16 now, plenty of the bigger sizes though)

Re: Bolt sizes
This company have the correct nuts.
https://www.arunfasteners.co.uk/stock-r ... sert-nuts/
Listed as: - 7/16 UNF Nylon Insert Nut x 0.687 A/F Zinc, which is 11/16".
They seem to list absolutely every type of nut and bolt available. Not sure on price, you have to call them. I intend to get a list of every nut and bolt I need and order from them in one hit, as I know they prefer a larger order.
