Driver's door mirror
The door mirror has become a bit floppy. If I hit a bump, it changes position. Is there any way to stiffen it up a bit so it stays where I put it?

To investigate the issue, you need to press the glass back and tease the black plastic rim out.
You will find a screw and spring that holds the body of the mirror to the bracket. The screw may have come loose or the spring has rusted.

Re: Driver's door mirror
Or is the base pillar for the mirror loose against the door? That's what happened to mine and I had to replace the original screws with small screws and nuts to hold it steady.

Re: Driver's door mirror
It more likely may be the bracket fixing to the door skin itself; they're not particularly well engineered at best and comprise two screws that rely on plastic grommets set into the thickness of the door skin. You'll see a grub screw on the end of the bracket casting which if you loosen will allow the mirror and pedestal assembly to be removed from the mounting plate.

The pedestal is well attached to the door. It is just the mirror part that moves.

Re: Driver's door mirror
My door mirrors have two external phillips screws on the bottom of mirror. Easy to tighten.
