Hi all
i am in the process of stripping the doors for painting. Does anyone have any tips for getting the glass out?
i have removed the window mech and undone the fixings for the chrome vertical window runner.
Both the main window and the small one attached to the runner have a bit of movement but i cannot fathom how to remove either

There are 2 pop rivets in the door surround rubber channel on the front angled face of the window frame. These have to be drilled out before the 1/4 light assembly can be removed and the drop glass after it.
You will also have to unbolt the winder from the door (4x 1/4" bolts) and slide the winder from the channel in the glass. There is also a channel at the rear of the drop glass which must be removed (a single 5/16" bolt on the outside rear face of the door) peel the felt channel out and pull the metal channel down. It's also more than helpful to remove both inner and outer window weatherstrips to aid clearance. Oh, and when the 1/4 light and frame comes out of the door the 1/4 window itself needs to be open 90 degrees!
